About me

I'm a father of four living in Adelaide. I've lived a colourful life with plenty of highs, lows and hard lessons along the way. In my travels I was a professional motocross rider - (well my dad owned motorbike shops), And I'm sure many men my age would agree that living in the 80's were the most amazing days. 40 cents for a litre for fuel. Plenty of work, Formula 1 in Adelaide, Colonades Tavern, and a clear distinction between Women and Men.

I enlisted in the Australian Regular Army as a Communications Specialist, and before I know it was on four Deployments to Afghanistan, East Timor, Solomon island and Bougainville. I received a number of awards in recognition of my service, dedication and commitment to those beside me.

I am extremely proud of my Army career, and it most definitely played a major role in shaping the man I am today. The discipline, resilience, accountability and loyalty I learned through military service continue to guide my life every day.

Since retiring from the army, I've continued to serve where I can through volunteering and supporting the veteran community. Having once been a veteran who needed help myself, I now spend many hours helping other veterans navigate the challenges that come after service. Through those experiences, I've learned that many men, not just veterans - carry struggles quietly, often without support, direction or purpose.

Almost two years ago I started the Men Like Us podcast, which eventually led to the creation of this website, merchandise that is now donated as care packages to different organisations and individuals that benefit from them.

Most recently I have become a One Nation member and was in the fortunate position to run in the 2026 State Election for the Seat of Elder. I will go into that later, pre election, the election itself and post election. Something I am also very proud to be a part of.

Men Like Us was built to advocate for men and promote better mental, emotional and physical health. It focuses on honesty, bravery, masculinity, accountability, discipline, resilience and becoming better men, fathers and leaders.

I believe many men today feel confused about their place in modern society. Social dynamics have changed rapidly, traditional roles have shifted, and many men feel disconnect from the conservative values and exceptions they were raised with. (However, I also believe men have perhaps "dropped the ball" somewhat and that will be further explored as this website expands).

My goal is not division, but to create a space where men can watch, read and soon with more podcasts speaking openly, support one another and work towards becoming stronger, healthier and more grounded individuals.

As I have outline in the 'Why a website', I do my best to live each day using everything I have on this website as my mantra. I have to, im held accountable by everything that is Men Like Us, and the 'naysayers' are quick to highlight when I fall short. I am far from perfect, but I do the best I can with what I've got, and that's all we can ask from any man.

Men Like Us is for all men, no matter your background, job, social standing or status, Its for all of us.

Enjoy, subscribe and I would be very happy for any feedback or suggestions on what you would like to see on this site in the future.

Enjoy
